<br />Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and Page - 9 - <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Meeting - February 17, 1998 <br />4. Council Members Glaze and Lothrop agreed, noting they are extremely <br />proud of staff. <br />5. Council Member Lothrop commented that the City Attorney had provided <br />Council with materials regarding the seizure and forfeiture of <br />vehicles used in drugs and prostitution. She noted she would be <br />interested in having a report on this. Council agreed they would <br />like to have a report come back to them. <br />6. Mayor Corbett reported on what has been happening in the Hillside <br />residential area, as well as the creekside area. She noted that <br />Kathy Ornelas has done an outstanding job keeping everyone informed. <br />She also complimented William Schock for his continuous oversight of <br />the hillside, as well as Steve Kiefer, who has helped move furniture <br />for residents on Hillside Drive. She noted the press has <br />complimented City staff, as well. She added that meeting with the <br />residents has been difficult, but the City is committed to lobbying <br />FEMA for additional funding to help with the costs. She stated the <br />Disaster Field Office will be kept fully informed, and our hearts go <br />out to the homeowners through these difficult times. <br />Mayor Corbett commented that Council, before their March trip to the <br />Conference in Washington, D.C., should make sure they have position <br />papers to present. The hillside-area disaster should be the number <br />one position paper to present to FEMA. <br />9.
