Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and Page - 7 - San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Meeting - April 20, 1998 Vice Mayor Loeffler stated he is aware of the hard work the Planning Commission has put into this issue but added that the fault lies in the process. This issue needs more public input. Staff needs to look at a plan for broader community input. The City Attorney suggested the Public Hearing be closed; and, should Council wish to defer the issue for 60 days, direct that the matter be renoticed when the item is scheduled to come back to the Council. Council clarified with staff that they would like more information on sign regulations, the affect of liquor stores and lodging and/or hotel facilities being close by such establishments, information on license fees, withholding lights and electricity of an establishment until their fees are paid, clustering of such establishments, security issues, and review any information available through the National Law Center. The following Motions were then introduced: Minute Order No. 98-20, Matter of A-98-2; Amendment to the San Leandro Zoning Code and the San Leandro Municipal Code Regarding Adult-Oriented Businesses (provides for the regulation and licensing of adult-oriented businesses in keeping with recent court decisions; allows adult-oriented businesses to locate in the IP Industrial Park Districts if they comply with licensing and minimum-proximity requirements). (1099) The City Council closed the Public Hearing; continued the Matter of A-98-2 for up to sixty (60) days; and directed that this matter be rescheduled and renoticed for return to the Council as a Public Hearing. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 Minute Order No. 98-21, Matter of A-98-2; Amendment to the San Leandro Zoning Code and the San Leandro Municipal Code Regarding Adult-Oriented Businesses (provides for the regulation and licensing of adult-oriented businesses in keeping with recent court decisions; allows adult-oriented businesses to locate in the IP Industrial Park Districts if they comply with licensing and minimum-proximity requirements). The City Council extended the Moratorium Prohibiting the Processing and Approval of Use Permits, Variances, Building Permits, or Other Zoning Entitlements for Adult Entertainment Establishments Which May Conflict with Proposed Zoning Ordinances and Zoning Map Amendments to May 20, 1998.
