PUBLIC HEARINGS
A. Matter of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program Year
Activities for 1998-99.
- Resolution Approving Action Plan for Community Development Block
Grant (CDBG) Funds, Fiscal Year 1998-99, and Authorizing Execution
and Submission Thereof by the City Manager (approves amounts and
recipients of CDBG Block Grant funds as well as authorizes the City
Manager to execute and submit Action Plan for Fiscal Year 1998-99 to
HUD).
This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above
matter, Jacqui Diaz gave a presentation on the CDBG Program Year
Activities for 1998-99.
Vice Mayor Loeffler expressed concern with the use of old data sources
as they don't reflect the actual changes in the community. Ms. Diaz
explained that the old data sources are acknowledged by all agencies
involved; and, currently, an effort is being made to have new
information substantiated to the point of being accepted by HUD.
Council Member Lothrop inquired if funding for neighborhoods would
entail taking a new census. Ms. Diaz responded that she is researching
that issue, as well as other issues. Council Member Lothrop stated she
would like to see some targeted areas prioritized throughout the
community.
The Hearing was then opened to the public.
There being no comments from the public, the Public Hearing was closed.
M/S/C Young and Loeffler.
