Vice Mayor Loeffler expressed a suspicion that,
once the lamps are installed, there will be some concerns expressed from
the residents of that area as to how it changes the look of the
neighborhood.
Staff responded by indicating to the Council the efforts made to include
the neighborhood residents in the decision-making process with regard to
the street lights, trees, sidewalks, gutters, driveways, and sanitary-
sewer lines.
Council Member Lothrop noted the issue is "preserving the neighborhood."
She feel s there needs to be guidelines to honor the "flavor" of the
neighborhood. She also added that input from the neighborhood
association is necessary.
Discussion ensued regarding the possibility of delaying selection of the
street-light fixture and comparing the cost of replacement versus
rehabilitation of the old fixtures.
