She noted the letter confirms
that FEMA will allow an appeal to go forward regarding the boundaries
and that information received on or before June 26, 1998, will be
considered. She asked that staff provide copies of this information
to those persons who were on the mailing list for the Town Hall
Meeting regarding this issue.
The Mayor also commented on a recent letter regarding the maintenance
of restrooms at Floresta Park. With regard to the phasing out of vehicle-licensing
fees to cities, he questioned where that legislation stands. He
suggested, if the City has not sent a letter, they should do so, as
well as perhaps a letter to the Chamber of Commerce.
Vice Mayor Loeffler also requested the City Attorney provide, by way
of memorandum, an outline of what City Commissioners can or cannot
do, as it relates to contributing to or campaigning for upcoming
elections.
