<br />i <br />Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and Page - 8 - <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Meeting - May 18, 1998 <br />Council Member Lothrop stated she appreciates the hard work of the <br />Committee and the staff. She also feels the PAC should include people <br />in adjacent areas, as they will be impacted, also. She likes the idea <br />of electing members of the Project Area Committee. <br />The following Motion was then introduced: <br />Minute Order No. 98-1, Matter of the San Leandro Redevelopment Agency's <br />Submission of the Final Report of the Citizen Advisory Committee for the <br />West San Leandro/MacArthur Boulevard Redevelopment Survey Area (accepts <br />the final report of the Citizen Advisory Committee for the West San <br />Leandro/MacArthur Boulevard Redevelopment Survey Area and directs staff <br />to undertake the required planning studies and develop a process for <br />conducting elections for a Project Area Committee). <br />The City Council accepted the Final Report of the Citizen Advisory <br />Committee for the Nest San Leandro/MacArthur Boulevard Redevelopment <br />Survey Area submitted by the San Leandro Redevelopment Agency. <br />MJS/C Lothrop and Loeffler. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br />D. Report on Closed Session Actions Taken. <br />None <br />7. OPEN FORUM <br />Open Forum is limited to 3 minutes maximum per speaker, 15 minutes total. <br />A. Tom Guarino, San Leandro Chamber of Commerce, addressed the Council and <br />invited them to the Leadership San Leandro Graduation Ceremonies, which <br />are to take place Thursday, May 21, at the Marina Community Center at <br />6:00 p.m. <br />He also reminded Council of the upcoming Golf Tournament, which is to <br />take place June 12, 1998. <br />8. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br />1. Mayor Corbett provided to the Council a copy of a memorandum <br />regarding the expansion of the Altamont Landfill. She indicated she <br />will not be able to attend the upcoming meeting, but it was noted <br />Council Member Polvorosa would be able to attend in her absence. <br />Council discussion ensued regarding issues pending with regard to the <br />Altamont Landfill and concerns were expressed that Davis Street not <br />become a stockpile area. Council direction, after discussion, was to <br />support the compromise items which affect San Leandro in the new <br />proposal, as reflected in the memorandum. <br />
