Minute Order No. 98-36, Matter of Appointment of City Council Members to <br />an Intergovernmental Agency: <br />-- Alameda County Waste Management Authority, Representative and <br />Alternate (2047) <br />The City Council appointed Council Member Shelia Young, as <br />Representative, and Council Member Joanne M. Lothrop, as Alternate, to <br />the Alameda County Waste Management Authority, to fill the rea~ainder of <br />the two-year term, January 2, 1997 through December 31, 1998. <br />M/S/C Polvorosa and 61aze. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: Loeffler <br />B. Resolution of the San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Approving the <br />Improvement and Reimbursement Agreement, Amendment No. 1, Between the <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency and Bay Fair Mall, LLC (successor to <br />Westland Bay Fair Mall, LP). <br />Debbie Potter gave the staff report and urged Council's approval of the <br />agreement. <br />Council Member Young clarified the intended timeline, and it was noted <br />Century would like to be under construction by this Fall. She noted it <br />is terrific that we are finally on track and will provide something for <br />everyone in terms of entertainment. <br />The Mayor commented this is a project that has been worked on for many <br />years. It creates a new entertainment in our community and will <br />revitalize BayFair. She concluded by stating this is an exciting <br />moment, and she is glad to be here. <br />The following Resolution was then introduced: <br />Re$olu~ on No. 98-11, Resolution of the San Leandro Redevelopment Agency <br />Approving the Improvement and Reimbursement Agreement, Amendment No. 1, <br />Between the San Leandro Redevelopment Agency and Bay Fair Mall, LLC <br />(successor to Westland Bay Fair Mall, LP). (2647) <br />M/S/C Young and 6alvan. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: Loeffler <br />C. Resolution No. 98-71, Joint Resolution of the City Councils of All the <br />Cities in Alameda County Urging the Governor and the State Legislature <br />to Oppose the Phase-Out of Vehicle License Fees. (1123J1050) <br />MJS/C Lothrop and Polvorosa. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: Loeffler <br />D. Report on Closed Session Actions Taken. <br />The City Council gave authorization for participation in an Amicus Brief <br />regarding Briggs vs Eden Council for Hope and Opportunity. <br />
