<br />Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council, Page - 15 - <br />San Leandro Economic Development Agency, San Leandro <br />Housing Finance Corporation, San Leandro Parking Authority, <br />San Leandro Public Financing Authority, and <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting - June 15, 1998 <br />4. Council Member Glaze stated he will reserve most of his comments for <br />the swearing in ceremonies, but he briefly remarked on memories of <br />serving with Ellen Corbett and Julian Polvorosa. He added that they <br />have both served the City well, and they will be missed. Me <br />concluded by stating their hearts were in their service, and they <br />stood by what they believed in. <br />5. Council Member Lothrop remarked that she has known the Polvorosa and <br />Corbett families for half of her life in San Leandro. She noted they <br />have served with courage and integrity. She concluded by stating it <br />has been an honor to serve with both of them. <br />6. Mayor Corbett reported on the San Leandro/Oakland Subcommittee <br />regarding the Joint Revitalization Plan. <br />Mayor Corbett continued by congratulating staff on a wonderful Cherry <br />Festival. <br />Mayor Corbett also reported on the recent dedication of the J. A. <br />Freitas Library and the positive reflection of the Portuguese <br />Community. <br />Mayor Corbett concluded by stating it has been an honor and a <br />privilege to serve with Julian Polvorosa. She noted Julian has been <br />a very loyal and wonderful addition to this Council. She concluded <br />by stating it has been a pleasure getting to know each and every <br />Council Member. She feels they have accomplished, as a team, <br />wonderful things and knows it will continue to go forward. She hopes <br />she will be able to continue to help in November by winning a seat in <br />the State Assembly. <br />9.
