Sewer service rates are recommended at the residential rate of <br />$16.90, as previously proposed to the City Council, an increase of <br />$1.40 per month. <br />2. The City will explore the opportunity of having the Oro Loma <br />Sanitary District or East Bay Municipal Utility District provide <br />sewer services to the entire San Leandro service area. <br />3. The City will explore privatization alternatives for the wastewater <br />facility and the collection system if the Oro Loma or East Bay <br />Municipal Utility District service options are not feasible. <br />4. A report on strategy and timeframes for addressing Items 2 and 3 <br />will be submitted to the City Council in October 1998. <br />M/5/C Galvan and Lothrop. Ayes: 5; Noes: Glaze and Nardine <br />D. Matter of Adoption of Proposed Rate Increase for Storm Water Service Charges. <br />-- A Resolution Amending the Storm Water Fees and Adding Chapter 13 to Title <br />12 of the San Leandro Administrative Code Relating to Storm Water Fees <br />(provides for adjustments to fees and charges, effective July 1, 1998, with <br />annual Consumer Price Index adjustments thereafter). No Action. <br />The following Motion was then introduced: <br />-- Minute Order No. 98-50, Matter of Adoption of Proposed Rate Increase for <br />Storm Water Service Charges. (145111221/2318) <br />The City Council rejected the proposed rate increase for Storm Water <br />service charges, leaving the storm water fee at $2.19 per month, and <br />approved staff recommendations nos. 2 and 3 on page 2 of the "Revised <br />Schedule for User Fee Service Rates," as follows: <br />2. Street sweeping in residential areas of San Leandro will be <br />reduced to only once per month, effective October 1998. Residents <br />and neighborhood associations will be notified of the revised <br />schedule so that vehicles can be moved on sweeping days. <br />3. The capital improvement project for replacement of the <br />Washington Avenue Pump Station will be deferred beyond 1998- <br />99 and transferred to the Capital Improvement Fund. <br />M/5/C Galvan and Loeffler.
