Minutes -City of San Leandro City Council and Page 2 <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting -October 5,1998 <br />REGULAR MEETING - 7.00 P.M. -City Council Chambers <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br />A. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag <br />B. Roll Call <br />PRESENT: Council Members Galvan, Glaze, Grant, Loe$ler, Lothrop, <br />Nardine; Mayor Young <br />ABSENT: None <br />2. PRESENTATIONS <br />A. Resolution of Commendation for the Merchants' Men's Fastpitch Softball Team in <br />Honor of Winning the 1998 Men's "C" Fastpitch Softball National Championship. <br />Ken Messerer, Coach, and several members of the team were present to accept the <br />Commendation. <br />3. JOINT CITY COUNCIIJSAN LEANDRO REDEVELOPMENT <br />AGENCY PUBLIC HEARING <br />A. Matter of 1001 Davis Street, Plaza 2 Redevelopment Project Area, Negative <br />Declaration, Section 33433 Report, and Disposition and Development Agreement <br />with the San Francisco Bay Area Council #28, Boy Scouts of America, Inc. <br />(approves a Negative Declaration, Section 33433 Report, and Disposition and <br />Development Agreement with Boy Scouts of America for sale of property located <br />at 1001 Davis Street for development of a 21,400-square-foot headquarters <br />building). <br />This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above matter, Debbie <br />Potter, Redevelopment Administrator, gave a brief presentation regarding the <br />development. She introduced Steve Barnes, Executive Director of the San <br />Francisco Bay Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America who explained the <br />project in further detail. Mr. Barnes then introduced Robbie Reed, Project <br />Architect from Weiss Associates, who gave a more detailed presentation with <br />drawings and presented a model for the Council to view. He urged the <br />Redevelopment Agency/City Council's approval of the project. <br />Ms. Potter summarized for the Council the recommended Resolutions the Council <br />and Redevelopment Agency are being requested to act upon. <br />
