PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person; however, at City Council's <br />discretion, based upon the number of speakers, the time allotted may be less. The <br />public is invited to make any comments related to Agenda items, or other items of <br />public interest, at this time. <br />A. Howard Kerr, 15388 Norton Street, addressed the Council regarding the 38'~ <br />Annual Day in the Park at Washington Manor and the recent Sausage and Suds <br />Festival. He further expressed concerns with Flood Control people regarding the <br />cleaning of the Washington /Ashland Channel. It is plugged up with dirt and <br />overgrowth of vegetation, causing overflowing on the bridges. He expressed <br />disappointment that they are not hearing back from the Flood Control people <br />regarding the problems. He further commented on the proliferation of real estate <br />signs showing up each weekend, especially those that are posted within the public <br />right-of--way. <br />B. Carey Walker, 471 Santa Monica, questioned comments made in the paper <br />regarding monies requested by Vice Mayor Galvan for the Sausage and Suds <br />Festival. He commented further on the City's Water Run-off fee and where <br />monies are actually being spent. He said the City should not have that tax imposed <br />on residents. He also commented that he would like to see the railroad tracks on <br />Merced fixed along with the others. He commented that street sweeping is done <br />from March through September and the rest of the time leaves are picked up. He <br />asked if that is true. He concluded with remarks about bumps and holes in E. 14'~ <br />Street and noted the street should be wider. <br />
