Minutes -City of San Leandro City Council Meeting Page - 9 - <br />October 19, 1998 <br />Mayor Young reported on the recent trip she, the City Manager and Dan <br />Lunsford took to Washington, D.C. to meet with FEMA representatives, <br />Congressman Stark and Senator Feinstein to discuss the Hillside area in San <br />Leandro. <br />Mayor Young requested that the City Clerk place on the next agenda an item <br />regarding a committee assignment correction that would make Surlene Grant <br />the Alternate representative to the East Bay League of California Cities. <br />Mayor Young concluded her remarks by noting recent correspondence from the <br />Counselor of Naga City in which they are requesting funding from the City. <br />Council's direction was to have the Mayor contact members of the Filipino <br />Community and ask for their support for fundraising activities on behalf of <br />Naga City. It was suggested that some of the people involved be invited to <br />come to the Mayor's Human Relations Council to gain their input. It was also <br />suggested that a letter be sent by the Mayor indicating that the City is not <br />prepazed to donate any funds at this time. <br />9.
