He stated that the Business License fee is <br />still in affect and asked what the total monies being collected is. He added that if <br />the Council is going to place another Measure on the ballot regazding the <br />Business License Fee, they should get public input prior to doing so. He <br />concluded by indicating that he would not be supportive of any bonds for the <br />library retrofit and renovation. <br />8. CITY COUNCII. REPORTS AND COMII~NTS <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br />None. <br />B. Reports on City Council Committees <br />Council Member Loeffler reported on the School Liaison Committees and <br />indicated that they had worked out an agreement of scheduled meetings to <br />take place. He also indicated that they agreed on a timeline for review of the <br />Parks Needs Master Plan, which will be about two months. <br />2. Vice Mayor Galvan commented on an upcoming meeting of the EBDA Board <br />to take place on October 26, 1998, at which they will be examining criteria for <br />recommended changes to the JPA. He encouraged any interested Council <br />members to attend. <br />C. City Council Comments <br />Mayor Young reported on the recent dedication of the mural at San Leandro <br />Creek and indicated that the Council had received a plaque that should be hung <br />in either the City Council Office or the Trophy Room. She indicated that the <br />dedication was a wonderful event and well attended. She also noted that it was <br />a moving tribute and a defining moment for all in attendance. <br />Mayor Young also reported on the need for Council to discuss, at a future <br />meeting, the issue of an election date for the year 2000. The City Attorney <br />suggested that the issue be scheduled for Council discussion in the spring of <br />1999. <br />Mayor Young also suggested that the Council, for planning purposes, schedule <br />a discussion for when the Council may want to take their recess next summer, <br />which should be either July or August. <br />
