~' <br />. Minutes -City of San Leandro City Council Meeting Page 2 <br />December 7,1998 <br />REGULAR MEETING -- 7.00 P.M. -- City Council Chambers <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br />A. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag <br />B. Roll Call <br />PRESENT: Council Members Galvan, Glaze, Grant, Loeffier, Nardine; <br />Mayor Young <br />ABSENT: Council Member Lothrop <br />2. PRESENTATIONS <br />A. Resolution of Commendation Recognizing the Contributions of Shirley Kerr, Human <br />Resources Commission. <br />Not present -Shirley Kerr will have her Resolution of Commendation presented to her at <br />the Official Family Holiday and Awards Dinner on December 16, 1998. <br />B. Mayor Young announced the City Attorney had just informed the Council that the Superior <br />Court of Alameda County has ruled in favor of the City of San Leandro in its lawsuit <br />against the expansion of the Oakland Airport. She noted that, earlier this year, San <br />Leandro and Alameda sued the Port of Oakland over its EIR for the Airport Master Plan. <br />At that time, the San Leandro City Council publicly stated it was not opposed to the <br />expansion of the airport itself but, rather the failure of the Port to seriously consider noise <br />impacts on our residents. The Mayor continued by thanking the City Attorney for his <br />untiring efforts and diligence in pursuing this matter on behalf of the community. <br />3. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Public Hearing Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person. When you address the City <br />Council, you should fill out a speaker card and submit it to the City Clerk so the order of <br />speakers may be determined and an official record of names and addresses obtained <br />None <br />
