DRAFT MINUTES <br /> Page 11 <br />May 18, 2009 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting <br /> <br /> <br />Udemezue noted that when the Finance Committee presented its recommendations, the <br />work of the Measure WW Ad Hoc Committee had not yet been completed. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Starosciak noted that Farnsworth Street from Vining to Doolittle was listed <br />in the CIP for rehabilitation. She suggested that the City Council hold a work session to <br />discuss Measure WW and the use of Park Development Fund fees. She hoped that there <br />would be no action by the Council on the additional Park Development Fund fees and <br />WW grant funding until the Council and the public had the opportunity to provide input. <br /> <br />Members of the Council noted that there was no urgency to make a decision on the <br />Measure WW proceeds. <br /> <br />Councilmember Prola remarked that the street sealing budget was woefully inadequate, <br />and he asked how long it would be before the work would need to be done again. Mr. <br />Joseph described the process for selecting the streets to be sealed. <br /> <br />Councilmember Souza expressed support for Vice Mayor St <br />hold a work session on Measure WW and Park Development Fund fees. She added that <br />she would also like to invite the Recreation & Parks Commission to participate in the <br />work session. <br /> <br /> <br />D.Report on Closed Session Actions Taken <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br /> <br />11. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> <br /> <br />A.Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Starosciak reported that the sound wall project has been awarded, and the <br />groundbreaking ceremony would be held in about a month. She stated that she would <br />not be able to attend the League of California Cities East Bay Division meeting on <br />st <br />Thursday, May 21 in Walnut Creek. <br /> <br />Councilmember Souza commented that at the East Bay Division dinner on Thursday, <br />there are plans to film the lobbying efforts to preserve local revenues. <br /> <br />Councilmember Prola reported on the most recent meeting of the Alameda County <br />Mosquito Abatement District. He reported that the District is offering its employees <br />salary increases, and it will be negotiating a new agreement with its Executive Director. <br /> <br />Councilmember Gregory attended a recent meeting of the AC Transit Policy Steering <br />Committee. He reported that that the work of the Committee was moving slowly. <br /> <br />Mayor Santos reported that the Alameda County Waste Management Authority Board <br />would be recommending a one-time rate increase in an effort to address its budget <br /> <br />
