Hollister <br />City Manager <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE WORK FOR SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOLS 2006-07, <br />PROJECT NO. 06-144-36-016. <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends acceptance of the work, filing of the Notice of Completion, and upon <br />completion to the satisfaction of the City Engineer of the one-year maintenance period, hereby <br />authorizes the City Manager to release the Maintenance Bond for the subject project. <br />BACKGROUND/ANALYSIS <br />In 2007, the City received a grant through the Safe Routes to School program to provide funding <br />to local agencies for safety-related improvements to facilities along designated routes to schools. <br />This project installed four (4) in-pavement lighted crosswalks at major pedestrian crossings <br />adjacent to Roosevelt, Corvallis, McKinley and Jefferson elementary schools. In addition, the <br />project added in-pavement lighted crosswalks at Estudillo Avenue at the Main library and <br />Manor Boulevard at the Manor Branch library. <br />The project also installed twenty-six (26) speed feedback signs at thirteen (13) locations, <br />including: Assumption, Corvallis, Dayton, Garfield, Madison, Monroe, Roosevelt, Washington, <br />and Washington Manor school zones. The signs had been previously purchased through a grant <br />from the Office of Traffic Safety (OTS). <br />Construction and punchlist work was completed by Columbia Electric on May 15, 2009. <br />Current City Council Policy <br />None <br />
