Discussion Regarding Guidelines for Town Hall Meetings in the City Council Member <br />Handbook <br />Ms. Ornelas reported that the Mayor had accurately recalled that several years ago, the Council <br />had adopted guidelines for Town Hall meetings. Mr. Hollister suggested to the Committee that <br />the current guidelines be revised, to limit the amount of staff support for these meetings. Ms. <br />Ornelas noted that not having a limit on issue-generated meetings could become quite staff- <br />intensive. She suggested limiting Councilmember Town Hall meetings to one meeting per year <br />for which staff would provide support, with additional meetings receiving minimal staff support. <br />Committee Member Souza asked whether the Council Chamber is available for meetings. Ms. <br />Ornelas that the Chamber could be used during times that on-site staff is scheduled to work. <br />Committee Recommendation: <br />The Committee recommended that the Guidelines for Councilmember Town Hall Meetings be <br />scheduled for review and adoption by the City Council. <br />6.
