6.2.3 OPTIONAL TASK: Topographic Data Collection Survey/Right-of--Way
Ground Control, Aerial Photography and Photogrammetric Engineering
Our team will establish the required ground control, obtain aerial photography, and provide
photogrammetric engineering to prepare a 40 scale aerial topographic base map with aone-foot
contour interval and spot elevations on a 50-foot grid. The mapping area shall be defined as a
250 foot wide corridor centered on the physical centerline of the San Leandro Boulevard. The
limits will be 50 feet north of the northerly curb returns of Davis Street and 50 feet south of the
southerly curb returns of Williams Street. Mapping will also be prepared 100 feet down each side
street. This mapping will show curbs, gutters, sidewalks, misc. concrete, pavement, striping,
buildings, fences, surface utilities, tree drip lines, signs, street lights/signals visible from the
aerial photography. The project will be tied to the NAD83 NAVD88 datum, or as agreed upon
with the City in advance of any work being performed.
As the field work is conducted to establish the control network, record monumentation within
adjoining streets will be located (to the extent it is available) to facilitate the placement of the
client provided or record right of way data on the aerial mapping product. No new
monumentation will be set and no record of survey will be filed.
The final product of this task will be the establishment of a project control network, which can be
used for construction control. and a 40-scale/1 foot contour aerial base sheet in AutoCAD 2007
format.
As an optional added deliverable, a geo-referenced color site ortho photo of the project area can
be provided. This option will need to be approved as a part of the initial authorization to proceed.
Suppleme~ital Topographic Data
To further assist the design process, supplemental topographic data will be collected within the
mapping limits. As a typical scenario, the referenced supplemental topographic data will:
• Include the location of other surface features within the back of walk to back of walk corridor
such as surface utilities, street furniture, trees, signs, signals etc.
• Be drafted (maximum of 24 hours) and incorporated in the aerial base map with the final product
being an electronic CARD file in AutoCAD 2007 format
As an optional added deliverable, information regarding pipe types, sizes, invert elevations and
directions can be collected.
Rigkt-of--Way Lines
As an optional service, we will compile the street right-of--way lines as well as intersecting
property lines within the mapping area. This information will be based upon record data (record
maps, Caltrans right-of--way mapping, Assessor's Parcel mapping etc.) and lines of occupation
and will not be a result of a field survey. Once compiled, this data will be added to the aerial
mapping to create a suitable basemap for the continuing construction document effort. This
preliminary information can be completed without the benefit of title reports for each parcel.
San Leandro Blvd-BART Interface Plan June, 2009
34 of 38
