The program is administered by the <br />Environmental Services Section in the Public Works Department. The City's FOG program <br />addresses the following components: <br />a. The legal authority for implementing source control measures for all sources of FOG, <br />prohibit discharges to the system and identify measures to prevent SSOs and blockages <br />caused by FOG; <br />b. Requirements for food and FOG producing establishments to install grease removal devices <br />(including traps and interceptors), design standards for the removal devices, maintenance <br />requirements, BMP requirements, record keeping and reporting requirements; <br />c. Authority to inspect grease-producing facilities, enforcement authorities, and staff <br />requirements for sufficient inspection and enforcement of the FOG ordinance; <br />d. A program for the disposal of FOG generated within the sanitary sewer system service area <br />including a list of acceptable disposal facilities and/or additional facilities to dispose FOG <br />generated within a sanitary sewer system service area. <br />e. A program for identifying sanitary sewer system lines subject to FOG blockages and an <br />established cleaning schedule for each section; <br />f. A plan for a public education outreach program that promotes proper disposal of FOG; <br />Legal Authority <br />The City has legal authority to prohibit discharges to the collection system through the Uniform <br />Wastewater Discharge Regulations, Title III, Chapter 14, Article 3 (Sewer Use Regulations) and <br />Article 7 (Monitoring and Inspection) of the City of San Leandro Municipal Code. <br />>agc ~ 2~ <br />
