Continuous Improvement The complete history of maintenance operations and performance is housed in the ICOM3 data warehouse. The objective is to provide personnel of the WPC Division with information on the initial and ongoing problems being identified in the system, and further bring engineering, maintenance and financial resources into a mutually supported action plan designed for timely decisions and actions to address corrective needs of the system and achieve the compliance goals of the SSMP. Section Ten -SSMP Program Audits General The SSMP Program Audits element of the SSMP requires that the City conduct an annual audit of its SSMP that identifies any deficiencies, and steps to correct them that are appropriate to the size of the City's system and the number of overflows. The City must submit a report of its annual audit to the SFRWQCB. In general, these audits will focus on evaluating the effectiveness of the SSMP and the City's compliance with SSMP requirements, including identification of any deficiencies in the SSMP and steps to correct them. SSMP Audits Discussion The City will complete annual audits of its SSMP beginning in December 2009. The audit will be completed internally, by an appropriate third party auditor, or possibly by a neighboring sanitary district or agency familiar with the requirements of this element of the SSMP. The approach for the annual audit will be finalized by October 2009. The audit will include: • Review of progress made on development of SSMP elements • Identification of successes of implementing SSMP elements and needed improvements • Description of system improvements during the past year • Description of system improvements planned for the upcoming year Upon completion of the audit, the WPC Manager will submit a report of the audit to the SFRWQCB by March 15 of the year following the calendar year for which the audit was completed. ~~g~ ~ 30
