Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and Page - 5 - <br />Redevelopment Agency Meeting - February 3, 1997 <br />B. Resolution Nominating and Appointing Members to the Youth Advisory <br />Commission (initial appointment of new Commissioners) - Elizabeth <br />Edwards, District 1; Summer Wooldridge, District 1; Julie Arroyo, <br />District 2; Kristen Lowe, District 2; Jennifer Cheung, District 3; Tom <br />Martell, District 4; Darcy Stockton, District 4; and Jacqueline Canlas, <br />At Large (District 6). <br />Kenton Jang introduced the new members of the Youth Advisory Commission <br />and those serving as Associates. The City Clerk administered the Oath <br />of Office to the group. <br />Mayor Corbett thanked the Commissioners for their commitment. <br />Council Member Young commented on the successful retreat and commended <br />Kenton Jang and Louis Heysteck for their work. <br />Council Member Lothrop noted that the youth could assist in setting a <br />course for the future of the community. <br />Council Member Glaze commented on the history of the Commission; he said <br />it has turned out better than could have ever been imagined. He <br />recognized Council Member Loeffler's efforts. <br />Vice Mayor Polvorosa commended the Associate Members on their <br />commitment. <br />The following Resolution was then introduced: <br />Resolution No. 97-11, Resolution Nominating and Appointing Members to <br />the Youth Advisory Commission (initial appointment of new Commissioners} <br />- Elizabeth Edwards, District 1; Summer Wooldridge, District 1; Julie <br />Arroyo, District 2; Kristen Lowe, District 2; Jennifer Cheung, District <br />3; Tom Martell, District 4; Darcy Stockton, District 4; and Jacqueline <br />Canlas, At Large (District 6). Resolution of the San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Approving a Letter of <br />Intent Between the Redevelopment Agency and Creekside Center Associates, <br />Inc., for Development of Agency-Owned Property at 960 San Leandro <br />Boulevard (approves a preliminary agreement for development of a high- <br />quality, neighborhood shopping center at the old Corporation Yard site, <br />including an independent grocery store comparable to Petrini`s; two <br />restaurants; a Walgreen's drug store; and other small, retail tenants). <br />Redevelopment Specialist Leslie Gould presented the history of the site. <br />She said a community meeting had been held on January 14, 1997, to <br />attain comments on the proposed project.
