Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and Page - 12 -
Redevelopment Agency Meeting - March 3, 1997
7. NEW BUSINESS
Items Removed from the Consent Calendar.
6.D Resolution Designating Placement of Stop Signs, Intersections, Title VI,
Chapter 1 of the San Leandro Municipal Code, Nome Street (provides for
placement of stop signs for northbound and southbound traffic on Nome Street
at Sitka Street). Removed from the Consent Calendar to New Business.
Traffic Engineer Ray Davis reported the history of the request for stop
signs. He said staff had evaluated the intersection for a four-way stop
sign, but it did not meet guidelines; a two-way stop sign and speedhumps
were recommended. He said this was the first phase of a three-phase process
that would include the two-way stop signs, installation of speedhumps, and
a median on Nome Street. He said this evening would address only the stop
signs. He said a petition was in the process of being signed for
installation of the speedhumps; it was recommended they be coordinated with
those being installed in Estudillo Estates. It was clarified that the
renters in the neighborhood could also sign the petition.
Council Member Lothrop thanked Susan Boland for her work in the
neighborhood.
The following Resolution was then introduced:
Resolution No. 97-21, Resolution Designating Placement of Stop Signs,
Intersections, Title VI, Chapter 1 of the San Leandro Municipal Code, Nome
Street (provides for placement of stop signs for northbound and southbound
traffic on Nome Street at Sitka Street). (1022)
M/S/C Lothrop and Loeffler. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0
A. Resolution Approving Parcel Map 7089, Shell/Burger King - Davis Street
at Phillips Lane (provides for subdivision of Parcel 1 [2.224 acres] of
Parcel Map 6872 into 3 parcels; Owner: City of San Leandro,
Redevelopment Agency).
Andrew Gaber, Senior Engineer, noted the history of the parcel site. He
said Shell/Burger King has requested the parcels, as noted in the staff
report.
The following Resolution was then introduced:
Resolution No. 97-22, Resolution Approving Parcel Map 7089, Shell/Burger
King - Davis Street at Phillips Lane (provides for subdivision of Parcel
1 [2.224 acres] of Parcel Map 6872 into 3 parcels; Owner: City of San
Leandro, Redevelopment Agency). (1690/2814)
M/S/C Lothrop and Polvorosa. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0
