Reports on City Council Subcommittees <br />None <br />C. City Council Comments <br />1. Council Member Lothrop said she had toured the location of the noise <br />monitors in San Leandro and Alameda. <br />Council Member Lothrop said she had heard from downtown business <br />owners wanting two-hour parking. <br />Council Member Lothrop noted her attendance at the Children, Youth <br />and Families Coalition Conference in Sacramento. She encouraged a <br />YAC member to attend next year. She also met with Senator Lockyer <br />and Assemblyman Sweeney on several issues. <br />2. Council Member Loeffler commented on Earth Week activities and the <br />MacArthur Boulevard Clean-Up; he enjoyed the Creek Festival. <br />Council Member Loeffler asked about the four dumpsters in the <br />downtown, concern about the Starbuck's project, and the need for a <br />storage plan. <br />Council Member Loeffler suggested creating a trail on top of the <br />creek from the Elks' Lodge property to the Corp Yard. <br />Council Member Loeffler commented on the Welfare Reform meeting that <br />occurred. <br />Council Member Loeffler asked if notes from the Disaster Council <br />Committee would be forthcoming. <br />3. Council Member Young commented on the Roosevelt Dads' Club Golf <br />Tournament. <br />Mayor Corbett commented on the Arbor Day festivities and commented on <br />the dahlia sale at the Watershed Festival. <br />Mayor Corbett said the City had requested funding from the Congestion <br />Management Agency for a trail system. <br />Mayor Corbett noted upcoming State budget forums and workshops. <br />Mayor Corbett noted that the proposed Marina Conference Center went <br />before BCDC last week; after concerns were addressed, the project <br />received approval. <br />
