Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council, Page - 4 - San Leandro Redevelopment Agency, and San Leandro Economic Development Agency Joint Meeting - May 5, 1997 B. Yal 6111, 474 Dolores Avenue, addressed the Council and commended John Jermanis for his efforts in resolving the Kenny Lee property issue. He commended Mr. Jermanis for the great job he is doing as City Manager, as well as the efforts and participation of Larissa Seto of the City Attorney's Office. He concluded by stating that they are both good employees that really listen. The City Manager responded, also thanking Mr. Gill for his continents, and announced that they had been successful in negotiating for a Starbuck's, Noah's Bagels, and a Boston Market to be located in the downtown without the need of using eminent domain. C. Larry Norry, 2532 Williams Street, addressed the Council regarding the proposed Ordinance prohibiting sitting or lying on public sidewalks in commercial and retail areas. He inquired whether the City Attorney's Office had contacted the City of Berkeley regarding their Ordinance, since theirs had been subject to challenge. Steve Meyers, City Attorney, responded that they had reviewed that Ordinance but that San Leandro's proposed Ordinance is different. D. Tom Guarino, Representing the Chamber of Commerce, addressed the Council and raised various questions regarding the Planning Commission's request to develop a Design Review Program. He voiced concerns regarding what the scope of the program would be, whether it includes manufacturers and industry, and what would be the process. He requested that the City keep the Chamber involved in the process. He concluded his comments by noting that there would be a ribbon cutting at Sabino's on Friday. 5. Resolution No. 97-49, Resolution of the San Leandro City Council Approving the Amendment to the Maintenance, Operation, and Reciprocal Easement Agreement for 1371 East 14th Street and 1330 Washington Avenue (assigns to Buffet Fortuna all of Sizzler's responsibilities and rights for maintenance responsibilities of the public area and provides for the City to assume maintenance of the common areas with Buffet Fortuna and Eureka Bank paying the cost).
