Matter of Proposed Increases in Fees and Charges for Services Provided
by City Departments and Charges for Services Provided by the Building
Regulations Division of the Development Services Department.
This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above
matter, the City Manager gave a brief overview of the proposed increases
and then introduced Jim O'Leary, Assistant Finance Director, who
highlighted the changes to be incorporated in the budget.
Council Member Glaze clarified with staff the fees that would pertain to
a child care center in commercial and residential areas. It was noted
that, if they were required to have a Conditional Use Permit, the fees
would be $525 for one in a commercial area and 5325 for one in a
residential area. The permitting fees for a child care center with 6 to
12 children would be nominal (5100), and a permit from Social Services
is required.
Council Member Young clarified that several other cities were contacted
regarding their filming permit process.
