Roll Call <br />PRESENT: Council Members Galvan, Glaze, Loeffler, Lothrop, Polvorosa, <br />Young; Mayor Corbett <br />ABSENT: None <br />2. PRESENTATIONS <br />A. Proclamation Declaring June 15-21, 1997, Affordable Housing Week. <br />Debbie Potter and Jacqui Diaz, Development Services Department, accepted <br />the Proclamation on behalf of the City. <br />3. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />A. Matter of A-97-6; Reclassification from CN Commercial Neighborhood <br />District to RS (PD) Residential, Single-Family, Planned Development <br />Overlay District; Tract Map 6933; Vesting Tentative Map to Create a <br />Twenty (20)-Lot Subdivision; and PD_97_5; Planned Development to <br />Construct Twenty (20), Two-Story, Single-Family Homes on the Site of the <br />Former Ottawa Shopping Center at 1320 and 1380 Ottawa Street; Assessor's <br />Parcel Number 77B-878-1-2 and 1-3, Waterford Associates, CN Commercial <br />Neighborhood District. <br />This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above <br />matter, Norm Weisbrod, Associate Planner, gave the staff report and <br />explained the project to Council by showing viewfoils of the proposal <br />and a short video of the site. <br />Council Member Polvorosa clarified that there would be a seven-foot, <br />wooden fence at the rear of the project along the channel. <br />Mayor Corbett clarified that shading from the two-story homes would be <br />a minimum factor, and there would be no CC&R's, as there was no common <br />area proposed. She also clarified that there is no plan for reuse of <br />the materials that will be demolished as there is a high probability <br />that there is asbestos in the existing building. It was noted that the <br />asphalt paving may be recycled, and reuse of materials is encouraged <br />when appropriate. <br />
