Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and Page - 14 - <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Meeting - August 18, 1997 <br />The following Motion was then introduced: <br />- Minute Order No. 97-36, Motion Approving or Denying Appeal by Dora De <br />La Cruz. (2557) <br />The City Council denied the Appeal by Dora De La Cruz of <br />Administrative Hearing Findings of Fact and Order for the property <br />located at 1862 Edgehill Court, San Leandro, CA, pursuant to San <br />Leandro Municipal Code, Title 3, Chapter 1, Regarding Community <br />Preservation Ordinance. <br />M/S/C Galvan and Glaze. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br />B. Resolution Approving Final Subdivision Map, Subdivision Improvement <br />Agreement (Public Improvements), and Parkland In-Lieu Fee Agreement for <br />Tract 6933; 1320 and 1380 Ottawa Avenue (provides for twenty [20] <br />single-family residential units on Ottawa Avenue at the former Bonaire <br />Shopping Center; Developer: Waterford Associates, LLC). <br />Council Member Glaze commented that he was happy to see that the name of <br />the street was going to be "Cops Court" after former Vice Mayor Joe <br />Copa. <br />Council Member Polvorosa commended the developer for all of the meetings <br />he held with the homeowners' association. <br />The following Resolution was then introduced: <br />Resolution No. 97-109, Resolution Approving Final Subdivision Map, <br />Subdivision Improvement Agreement (Public Improvements), and Parkland <br />In-Lieu Fee Agreement for Tract 6933; 1320 and 1380 Ottawa Avenue <br />(provides for twenty [20] single-family residential units on Ottawa <br />Avenue at the former Bonaire Shopping Center; Developer: Waterford <br />Associates, LLC). (2829) <br />M/S/C Polvorosa and Glaze. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br />C. An Ordinance Establishing Compensation of the Mayor (establishes the <br />salary of the Mayor at X2,800 per month). <br />Council Member Lothrop briefly commented that the Policy Committee had <br />met on August 11 and 14, 1997, regarding the requested increase in the <br />Mayor's salary. At the conclusion of the meetings, it was recommended <br />the Mayor's salary be set at X2,800.00 per month, with the further <br />recommendation that the current guidelines regarding the setting of the <br />Mayor's salary be revised to eliminate step increases. <br />Council Member Young summarized the Committee's discussion and stated <br />that she had struggled with the whole concept of step increases for the <br />Mayor. She stated she feels it is inappropriate for the Council, as a <br />unit, to ever get into "grading processes." She noted that she feels it <br />was a bad approach for the Council to take in terms of the incremental <br />steps. She added that she believes once a salary is set for a position <br />
