Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and Page - 8 -
San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Meeting - August 18, 1997
8. Redevelopment Agency Approves Disposition and Development Agreement.
Resolution No. 97-20, Resolution of the Redevelopment Agency of the
City of San Leandro Approving the Form of the Disposition and
Development Agreement Between Creekside Center Associates and the
Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Leandro.
M/S/C Loeffler and Galvan. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0
Council Member Polvorosa congratulated Mr. Irmer for going the extra
mile by involving the community in this project. He feels he did a
great job on the proposal and that the design is wonderful.
Vice Mayor Loeffler commented that redevelopment is no easy task in San
Leandro and Mr. Irmer's patience and persistence worked. He extended
his thanks on behalf of the citizens in District 5.
A ten-minute break was announced at 8:18 a.m.
The meeting reconvened at 8:25 p.m.
5. PUBLIC COMMENTS
Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person. The public is invited
to make any comments related to Agenda items, or other items of public
interest, at this time.
A. Don Cook, 2155 Edgehill Ct., addressed the Council urging them to deny
the appeal regarding the limousines parked at 1862 Edgehill Ct. He
noted that the Council was very lenient when this matter first went
through, but he feels very strongly that the limousines should not be on
the street.
Ingrid Gook, 2155 Edgehill Court, addressed the Council in opposition to
commercial vehicles on her block. He noted concerns with visual impacts
and access for fire response, adding that the limousines block the way
for fire engines that may need to get through. She urged the Council to
deny the Appeal.
Joanne Griffen, 2027 Edgehill Court, addressed the Council, noting they
welcome these new neighbors into their district, but stated her
opposition to commercial vehicles on the street.
Mr. Griffen, 2027 Edgehill Court, addressed the Council in opposition to
the stretch limousines on his street. He noted the problem seems to be
that there are two new limousines there now; but, if there is a good
business, there would be more and more limousines. He added that he is
speaking on behalf of at least 13 neighbors in opposition to this
business and urged Council to deny the Appeal.
