Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and Page - 2 - <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Meeting - October 6, 1997 <br />REGULAR MEETING -- 7.00 P.M. -- CITY COUNCIL .CHAMBERS <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br />A. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag <br />B. Roll Call <br />PRESENT: Council Members Galvan, Glaze, Loeffler, Lothrop, Polvorosa, <br />Young; Mayor Corbett <br />ABSENT: None <br />2. PRESENTATIONS <br />A. Commendation for Former Executive Director of San Leandro Boys' and <br />Girls' Club, Bob Langseth, Commending Him for His Outstanding Community <br />Service. <br />Bob Langseth was present to accept the Proclamation. <br />B. Proclamation Declaring October 12, 1997, Sausage and Suds Day in San <br />Leandro. <br />Larry Allphin and the Sausage and Suds Executive Committee accepted the <br />Proclamation. <br />C. John Jermanis, City Manager, introduced Tim Hansen, the new Finance <br />Director. <br />3. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />None <br />4. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person. The public is invited <br />to make any comments related to Agenda items, or other items of public <br />interest, at this time. <br />A. Dee Gonzales, 195 Castro Street, addressed the Council regarding a <br />problem in her neighborhood. She commented that she and her neighbors <br />believe there is illegal activity taking place at an apartment at 80 <br />Castro Street. They have observed a lot of visitors, the presence of <br />expensive cars, and strange comings and goings from that location. She <br />added that she had spoken to Kelly Hammer from the City, and Ms. Hammer <br />did not notice any problems. She asked if the Council could assist her <br />and her neighbors in getting some information and assistance from the <br />Sheriff's Department to form a neighborhood association, as she <br />understands there might be some grant money available for situations <br />such as this. <br />
