t' Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and Page - 9 - <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Meeting - October 6, 1997 <br />Vice Mayor Loeffler commented briefly on the California Chamber of <br />Commerce Forum on "Media and the Family" and noted parents have to be <br />the monitor for their kids. <br />Vice Mayor Loeffler stated Saturday was Beautification Day, and the <br />Open House at the Fire Station on Estudillo was very successful. He <br />concluded by asking that staff report back to the Council on the <br />status of the median project on East 14th Street and whether there is <br />an ordinance which addresses the maintenance of public sidewalks in <br />front of businesses. <br />6. Council Member Lothrop commented on the Women of Taste Event which <br />took place Saturday and recognized the many volunteers that work to <br />make that project successful. <br />Council Member Lothrop also commented on the upcoming meeting <br />regarding Airport issues which will be taking place on Thursday in <br />the Gallery San Leandro Room at City Hall. <br />Council Member Lothrop commented further on the recent meeting with <br />Davis West Area residents and noted that there still were not enough <br />people there. She added that it was scheduled for the same night as <br />a "Back-to-School Night" for John Muir and asked if staff could <br />research the possibility of coordinating meetings so they don't <br />conflict with other scheduled meetings. She also asked that staff <br />look into the feasibility of having Police Officers available at <br />"Back-to-School Nights" so they would be available for questions from <br />parents and/or students. <br />It was noted that the Chamber is working on coordination of calendars <br />within the community. <br />7. Mayor Corbett thanked Council Members for attending events on her <br />behalf and added that she was impressed by the number of City <br />employees at the Women of Taste Event who volunteered. <br />9.
