know, what I tried to do is to incorporate all of those things that had been discussed in
the past and the present, having to do with specific mitigations for that site. And, while
some people may think that we can just do it later -the history of this seems to be that
later seems to drop out. I'm trying to make it so that some of these items don't get
dropped out, whether we told that it's too late, or that the EIR process is just a time to
comment, but when it's over it's like the Oakland Airport flight path -that our time is
up and it's moving on.
Mayor Corbett: So, what we want to find out tonight is how we protect the mitigations
and I guess I would have to ask the City Attorney to - I think Bob wants to say
something to -the City Attorney to make sure that we have an opportunity to protect
those mitigations. Is there a deadline Gordan? Gordon? Council Member Galvan, do
you have a deadline?
Council Member Galvan: At the EBDA Meeting in November -that is the goal that
has been set to the EBDA Board to adopt the agreement before us. It's the third
Thursday in November.
Mayor Corbett: So, we still have some time, perhaps, to have Council Member Glaze
sit down with Council Member Galvan and the City Attorney, or whoever -Bob,
whoever the parties are, to make sure that the mitigations are covered.
October 20, 1997 -Verbatim Transcript, Item 6.A 20
