back to my original point, we've got......there are three parts to this process. We can
be here all night if you want to talk about specifically what we want on Lewelling and
my point is, we don't have to decide that this evening. All we have to do is say that the
scope of what we want on Lewelling is something that this City Council is going to take
a look at and decide as part of the EIR process -exactly what we want to see happen
there.
Mayor Corbett: Thank you Gordon. I want to call on Garry and Julian, but I have a
suggestion. And, let me just throw this out. Clearly, I think one of the most difficult
parts of being the representative on the EBDA Board is trying to represent a position that
was taken many, many years ago and match it to what is new today. There's no doubt
about that that is a problem - that's an issue. Council Member Glaze, I know, has a list
of mitigations, specifically, that he's interested in seeing put forth to deal with the issues
on Lewelling Boulevard and to make sure that the neighborhood is not unduly disrupted
and we get our fair share out of this deal and all that sort of thing. So, I think that what
we want to make sure tonight is that any vote that is taken on this agreement -any vote
that is taken will not jeopardize our ability to get mitigation. Would that be a correct
statement Council Member Glaze?
Council Member Glaze: That would be correct and then the problem is the City
Attorney is kind of echoed what my concern is - is that we go on record at some point
in time. And, my only problem with this is we saw this and the comment to comment
tonight on this on Thursday. So, we're here tonight, you know, talking about this.
