Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and Page - 13 - <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Meeting - December 15, 1997 <br />Vice Mayor Loeffler reported on the San Leandro Historical Society's <br />recent Holiday event and the recent leaving of our Deputy Fire Chief <br />to Orinda-Moraga. He commented that he questions the availability of <br />persons in leadership roles, such as this, if there is a disaster and <br />they live outside the City. <br />Vice Mayor Loeffler concluded by commenting on the recent National <br />League of Cities Conference in Philadelphia, PA, and suggested the <br />Council have a Work Session to share the information and ideas they <br />received while at the conference. <br />3. Council Member Lothrop commented that Menlo Street is being worked <br />on, and it looks great - she is not sure who to thank, but wanted to <br />say it was about time! <br />4. Mayor Corbett thanked the staff involved in the tree-lighting <br />ceremonies, including the Public Works staff and Kathy Ornelas from <br />the City Manager's staff. She noted there were members of the local <br />religious community there. With regard to the recent Business Walk, <br />she noted there is an issue of Lucky Stores and their future that <br />needs to be addressed. <br />io. ao~ouRN <br />The City Council adjourned its meeting at 9:30 p.m., and the Mayor wished <br />everyone Happy Holidays and a Prosperous New Year! <br />APPROVED: <br />LEN M.
