Park Fees Update 4 May 24, 2005
Staff recently completed a survey of park impact fees in various jurisdictions. The City's
proposed fee will place it at the 76`h percentile rank of the locations surveyed. The median fee
levied by the various jurisdictions is $11,500. It should be noted, however, that several
jurisdictions do not include a park improvement component as a part of their fee. When the park
improvement component is included, the proposed fee places lower than the 76`h percentile rank.
The results of the survey follow in Table 3.
TABLE 3
CITY OF SAN LEANDRO
PARK IMPACT FEE SURVEY
(2005 Dollnrs)
Jurisdiction Park Impact Fee (Single-Family Residence)
Albany $1,365
Dublin $19,178
Fremont $7,327
Hayward Area Recreation District $11,953
Livermore $12,3 84
Newark $2,998
Pleasanton $9,707
Union City $14,000
Alameda County $11,500
* New rate effective July "LUU6
The proposed fees reflect an approximately 172% increase over the current fees.
