2.2 Aerial Mapping
The City of San Leandro will provide digital photogrammetric mapping for the project limits.
Mapping products will include an aerial photograph in digital format, plus 1"=40' scale, 2 foot
contour design quality photogrammetric mapping in AutoCAD format. It is assumed that the
Caltrans ABC process will not be required for this project
2.3 Field Surveyina
MTCo will perform field topography to supplement the photogrammetric mapping generated.
This field topography will consist of the following:
a) Perform control surveys using local horizontal and vertical benchmarks provided by the
City of San Leandro to a minimum of 3`d order accuracy. Control survey will be used for the
supplemental field topo efforts. We are assuming that the local control and vertical
benchmarks for the project will be on NAD83 for horizontal control and NAVD88 for
vertical control.
b) Cross sections will be measured at an interval of 50 feet extending approximately 10 feet
beyond the existing right of way (back of sidewalk, R/W fence, etc.) Sections will extend
approximately 100 feet along the streets and ramps beyond the anticipated conform
locations.
c) All topographic features within the projects limits that may affect design will be located.
These features include curb, gutter, sidewalks, utility poles, street lights, traffic signal poles
and associated equipment, fences, signs, mailboxes, driveways, ditches, culverts, manholes
(rim and inverts), drop inlets/catch basins (rim and inverts), and evidence of underground
utilities (including paint marks, pin flags, trench patches). Surveys of any utility potholes is
not included in this scope of work.
d) Surveys of existing sidewalks and driveways shall be obtained to ensure the design of all
conforms will meet ADA standards.
e) TJKM shall perform a field review of underground signal and lighting conduit, pull boxes,
controller cabinets and other facilities as appropriate, and will make informational notes on
the as-built plans as they apply to signal, signal interconnect and lighting design.
2.4 Preliminary 30% Plans
a) Layout Plans
Prepare preliminary layout plans showing new edge of pavement, curb, sidewalk, and median
islands. Layout plans will follow Caltrans plan format. Typical cross sections will be prepared
for each street and freeway ramp segment.
b) Profiles and Superelevations
Preliminary centerline and edge of pavement profiles and superelevation plans will be prepared
following Caltrans plan format.
ACTIA 11: I-$80/Washington Avenue Interchange Improvements Tune 2005
COSL Project No. 1A4-34-007 Page 17 of 35
