f) Traffic Signal Modifications
Traffic signal equipment will be modified at the intersections of Washington Avenue and Fargo
Avenue, and Washington Avenue and Beatrice Street, in relation to the roadway reconfiguration.
Interconnect fiberoptic cable, which now ends at the intersection of Washington Avenue and
Levelling Boulevard, will be extended to the intersection of Washington Avenue and Beatrice
Street.
g) Lighting_Plans
The lighting plans will be advanced to the 70% complete phase and include wiring diagrams for
the lighting modifications.
h) Landscaping Plans
Landscape plans will be advanced and call out plant species and sizes. Hardscape treatment for
medians will be detailed. Special provisions and cost estimates will be refined for the Landscape
work will be prepared. Preliminary irrigation plans will be submitted during this phase.
i) Stage Construction Plans
Preliminary stage construction plans will be prepared for the project. These plans will identify
potential staging of the construction and how traffic and access will be maintained during
construction. It is assumed that there will be no major changes in roadway grades. We anticipate
that up to a total of 6 stages will be required to complete construction of the improvements.
TJKM shall use the existing traffic model on which the conceptual development of the project is
based to analyze options for routing and detouring traffic during each stage of the construction.
The analysis will also include any necessary retiming of signal operations at Beatrice and
Washington, and at Washington and Fargo/Greenhouse. Any special signs, detour route
analysis, etc will also be included in the traffic handling plans.
j) Traffic HandlingzPlans
Preliminary handling plans will be prepared for the project. These plaits will utclude any
temporary construction signing required for the project. We anticipate that construction stage will
require a separate traffic handling plan.
k) Erosion Control Plans/ Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans
Preliminary Erosion Control Plans will be prepared and will follow Caltrans standards as set
forth in the Storm Water Quality Handbook. The plans will show locations of fiber roll check
dams, erosion control blankets, temporary silt fences, and other erosion control features.
Preliminary Storm Water Pollution Prevention Flans (SWPPP) will be prepared as appropriate to
the project and will follow Caltrans standards as set forth in the Storm Water Quality Handbook.
The plans will show locations of any permanent detention basins, bio-filter swales, gross solids
removal devices, and other permanent water quality features.
ACTIA ll : I-880/Washington Avenue Interchange Improvements June 2005
COSL Project No. 14439-007 Page 22 of 35
