HOUSING ELEMENT GOALS, POLICIES, AND PROGRAMS <br />Goals in the other elements of the General Plan are sequentially numbered from 1 through 52. The <br />Housing Element begins with Goal 53 and continues through Goal 59. <br />Goal 53: Affordable Housing Development <br />Increase the supply of affordable ownership and rental housing in San Leandro. <br />'~" Quantified Objectives for Goa153: <br />Facilitate the development of 76 units of very low income housing in the ABHOW and Fuller <br />Gardens projects by June 30, 2006 (Completed as of 2005) <br />Facilitate the development of at least 87 additional units affordable to very low income <br />households, 107 new units affordable to low income households, and 121 new units affordable <br />to moderate income households between September 1, 2002 and June 30, 2006 to satisfy the <br />City's ABAG Fair Share Allocation (City is facilitating additional affordable housing <br />developments). <br />POLICIES AND ACTIONS <br />PROGRESS <br />Policy 53.01 LAND SUPPLY <br />Provide and maintain an adequate supply of land <br />to accommodate the City's fair share housing <br />assignment for the 1999-2006 period, as <br />determined by ABAG. <br />The City has maintained the <br />"adequate sites" inventory that was <br />prepared for the Housing Element, <br />and has since approved two general <br />plan amendments to allow residential <br />development where residential uses <br />were not previously allowed. <br />Furthermore, the E. 14`h South Area <br />Development Strategy now <br />anticipates a larger amount of <br />residential uses than what was <br />previously considered by the General <br />Plan and the Development Strategy <br />identifies additional sites appropriate <br />for housing development in addition <br />to what is contained in the Adequate <br />Sites analysis.
