POLICIES AND ACTIONS <br />PROGRESS <br />Policy 53.02 FUNDING The City typically works proactively <br />Actively pursue and leverage private, non-profit, with non-profit developers to pursue <br />and public funds to facilitate the development of available grant monies for affordable <br />affordable housing in San Leandro. The City recently <br /> issued an RFQ to experienced <br /> nonprofit housing developers to help <br /> manage and possibly develop <br /> affordable housing at the Islander <br /> Motel (See Highlights section). <br />Action 53.02 A: Applications for Grant Furtdiug <br />Continue to pursue all available funding sources for affordable housing construction, <br />including annual applications for federal CDBG and HOME funds. <br />Action 53.02-B: Support for Non-Profit and For-Profit Affordable Housing Developers <br />Continue to provide support and information to non profit and for prof t developers <br />seeking to create affordable housing in San Leandro, including assistance in applications <br />for Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Mortgage Revenue Bonds, Affordable Horsing <br />Program funds, and other funding sources. Work with the City's Business Development <br />Department to prepare newsletters and promotional materials advertising residential and <br />mixed use development opportunities in the City, particularly around the Downtown and <br />Bayfair BART Statiofzs and along the East 14`~ Street corridor. Continue to pursue grant <br />funding for compact disks (CD) and other educational media which market housing <br />opportunities in San Leandro, illustrate high density housing prototypes (especially along <br />East 14`'` Street), and address neighborhood concerns about higher density housing. <br />Year 2004 Annual Housing Progress Report 16 City Of San Leandro <br />
