Goa156: Affordable Housing Conservatio^ <br />Encourage the preservation and rehabilitation of the existing affordable housing stock. <br />d <br />Quantified Objectives for Goal 56 <br />Provide rehabilitation assistance to an average of 50 lower income homeowners a year <br />between 2002 and 2006, either through the Minor Home Repair Program or the Owner- <br />Assisted Rehabilitation Program. <br />2. Provide rehabilitation assistance to a minimum of one mobile home park and at least 20 <br />mobile home owners by June 30, 2006. <br />3. Rehabilitate at least 100 units of rental housing through the apartment rehabilitation program <br />(or its successor, in the event the program is discontinued) by June 30, 2006. At least 30 <br />percent of these units should be affordable to low or very low income households. <br />4. Conservation of the 546 income-restricted units that currently exist in the City. <br />POLICIES AND ACTIONS <br />PROGRESS <br />Policy 56.01 REHABILITATION OF OWNER- <br />000UPIED HOUSING <br />Undertake a range of City programs that assist <br />private property owners, particularly low and <br />moderate income owners, in maintaining and <br />improving the condition of their homes. <br />The City typically relies on the RDA <br />Set-Aside Fund for housing <br />rehabilitation assistance. The city <br />also provides six grant programs <br />including: Minor Home Repair, <br />Mobile Home Repair, Accessibility, <br />Exterior Clean-Up, Exterior Paint <br />and Seismic Strengthening projects. <br />Action 56.01- A & B: All of these <br />programs are currently funded and <br />focused on very-low and low-income <br />households. <br />Year 2004 Annual Housing Progress Report 29 City Of San Leandro <br />
