POLICIES AND ACTIONS <br />PROGRESS <br />Policy 58.07 ENVIRONMENTAL CONSTRAINTS <br />Explore programs and funding sources to correct <br />flooding and soil contamination problems on <br />underutilized sites that might be redeveloped <br />with housing. <br />When considering development on <br />properties that may either be <br />contaminated or prone to flooding, <br />the City may provide financing <br />assistance if the project is eligible as <br />an affordable housing project. Set- <br />Aside monies could be used to help <br />address contamination and other <br />environmental concerns. Also, the <br />City can assist with obtaining State <br />DTSC funds. <br />Action 58.07-A: Remediation of Soil Co~ita~ninatio~i <br />Explore possible funding sources and other ways to assist prospective housing <br />developers in addressing soil contamination problems on potential housing sites. <br />The above policies and actions are further supported by the following action appearing elsewhere <br />in tlje General Plan: <br />• Action 46.02-A (Community Services and Facilities Element) regarding City assistance and support <br />to both School Districts in their efforts to increase capacity and develop new facilities. <br />Year 2004 Annual Housing Progress Report 50 City Of San Leandro <br />
