POTENTIALLY
ISSUES POTENTIALLY SIGNIFICANT LESS THAN NO
SIGNIFICANT UNLESS SIGNIFICANT IMPACT SOURCES
ISSUES MITIGATION IMPACT
INCORPORATED
c. Displace substantial numbers of people,
necessitating the construction of replacement X
housin elsewhere?
EXPLANATION: The East 14 Street Corridor is a "Focus Area" identified in the San Leandro General Plan. The General Plan
calls for more compact development along the corridor to take advantage of this transit facility and is designated as "Corridor-Mixed
Use" on the General Plan Land Use Map. Under buildout conditions, the General Plan anticipates additional development, including
residential, commercial and office uses. The General Plan EIR and Traffic Study examined potential new development and found
that additional growth could be accommodated and not create any environmental impacts as the Corridor is considered an infill
development area. The Corridor Concept Plan contained in the Development Strategy encourages additional residential development
and less commercial development than the General Plan, however, the General Plan envisioned that much of the new multiple-family
development that would occur, would do so along the East 14`~ Street Corridor. The new development would Occur in an existing
urbanized area and be considered to be infill development.
Sources: San Leandro General Plan -Chapter 3 -Land Use; Draft East 14`h Street South Area Development Strategy -Chapter 4
- Corridor Concept Plan
3.
