~ ~ G ~ <br />The original marina included two jetties, the <br />dredged Jack D. Maltester entrance channel, <br />and a basin with 365 berths. <br />Previous CommissionAction <br />The Boating and Waterways Commission has <br />consented to the following grants: In 1979-80 a <br />grant for $300,000 developed the existing ramp, <br />floats, parking area, lights and miscellaneous <br />site amenities. In 1982-83 a $105,000 grant <br />developed the existing restroom. Maintenance <br />of the rip rap slopes was performed in 1985- <br />86with agrant for $25,000. In 1987-88 a grant <br />for $55,000 installed additional floats at the site. <br />Proposed Project <br />The proposed project entails the following: (1) <br />demolition and removal of existing pier and <br />parking area to allow construction of new boat <br />launching ramp and parking area, (2) <br />construction of two-lane concrete boat launching <br />ramp, (3) installation of two concrete boarding <br />floats, (4) construction of 65 vehicle/trailer <br />parking area, (5) construction of a two unit <br />restroom, (6) construcion of maneuvering area, <br />ready lane, and wash down area,(7) <br />construction of two concrete brows, (8) <br />installation of four concrete piles, (9) utilities. <br />Cost Estimate <br />Project Item DBW <br />DemolitionlExcavation/Fill $ 139,000 <br />Boat Launching Ramp 176,000 <br />Boarding Floats 216,000 <br />Parking Area 287,000 <br />Restroom 341,000 <br />Boat Washdown Area 28,000 <br />Storm Drainage 115,000 <br />Slope Protection 41,000 <br />Utllltle5 98,000 <br />Signs 12,000 <br />SUBTOTAL $ 1,453,000 <br />Contingency 121,000 <br />Engineering 145,000 <br />Inspection 61,000 <br />Permits" 36,000 <br />TOTAL $ 1,816,000 <br />The City of San Leandro will fund or exempt all project <br />permits required by the City. <br />Conclusion <br />There are no particularly difficult or unusual <br />problems associated with this project and it falls <br />within the normal range of practice for design and <br />construction of projects of this type.
