There is one
Dabney (adjacent to and north of the project site), wlich is on the City's Historic Landmarks List. As proposed, the new building
arated from the house by an 8-foot tall CMU block wall and a 10-foot landscaped setback. There are no known cultural
ill be se
p
w
resources iIi the project area and, given its history of development and a recent (1999) project having been developed nearby without
any encounters with cultural resources, it is unlikely that any culhu-al resources would be encountered during site development.
the conshuction phase would be considered
in
d d
t
ur
g
ere
Potential impacts related to unknown cultural resources that maybe encoun
less than significant «rith implementation of the following standard nitigation measure:
• In the event that archaeological resources, prehistoric or historic artifacts are discovered during any construction or
the following procedures shall be folloFVed: Construction and/or excavation activities shall cease immediately
excavation
,
and the Community Development Department shall be notified. AGRICULTURE RESOURCES. Would the ro'ect:
6
2
X 1
,
,
a. Convert Prime Farmland, Unique Farmland, or
FaITI>land of Statewide Importance (Farmland),
as shown on the maps prepared pursuant to the
Farn~land Mapping and Monitoring Program of
the Califonia Resources Agency, to nov-
a icultural use?
b. Invoh~e other changes in the existing
environment that, due to their location or
nature, could result in conversion of Fam~land,
to non-a 'cultural use?
EXPLANATION: The project site exists within an urban environmental and was previously utilized as a fire station. Underlying
soils are not considered prime farmland and the project site it not zoned for agricultural uses, nor has it ever been under a
Williamson Act contract. There are no agricultural uses in die vicinity that might be affected by the change ul use to office uses.
Therefore, no agricultural resources impacts are anticipated.
17. MANDATORY FINDINGS OF SIGNIFICANCE.
a. Does the project have the potential to degrade
the quality of the environment, substantially
reduce the habitat of a fish or wildlife species, X 2
cause a fish or wildlife population to drop
below self-sustaining levels, threaten to
eliminate a plant or arimal community, reduce
the number or restrict die ralige of a rare or
endangered plant or alimal or eliminate
important exarnples of the major periods of
California pistol or rehisto ?
b. Does the project have impacts that are
individually limited, but cumulatively
"
X
2
1
considerable? ("Cumulatively considerable ,
means the incremental effects of a project that
are considerable when viewed in colmection
with the effects of the past projects, the effects
of other current projects, and the effects of
probable future projects.)
1016-1052 Davis/ PLN2004-00031 -Initial Study Checklist 12 April 2004
