Three training sessions <br />were offered to clients and <br />staff of social service <br />agencies, training a total of <br />20 people. <br />Two clinics were conducted <br />for San Leandro residents, <br />with a total of 20 attendees. <br />One training session was <br />held on fair housing for first <br />time homebuyers, with 25 <br />attendees. <br />Public service <br />announcements were <br />made on local radio <br />stations on fair housing. A <br />total of 70 announcements <br />were made between <br />February and June of 2004. <br />1200 fliers were distributed <br />through educational and <br />outreach programs, as well <br />as, through the mail, to <br />landlords, tenants and <br />social service providers. <br />• No residents of Hispanic ethnicity were served during the year. The table <br />below indicates the total number of San Leandro residents served by race <br />and ethnicity, as well as, by other categories and income level. <br />• The Citizen Participation Plan of San Leandro also describes measures to <br />encourage public participation especially of protected classes and input in <br />community and City Council meetings. This includes making special <br />accommodations for the disabled and non-English speaking minorities, if the <br />City is notified in advance. <br />9 <br />
