EXHIBIT A SCOPE OF SERVICES 1.0 DESCRIPTION: This contract is for design of a new 9,500 square foot library building to be located at 1241 Manor Boulevard in the City of San Leandro. The new building shall generally conform to the Manor Branch Public Library 100% Schematic design dated May 6, 2002, prepared by Group 4 Architecture except that the mechanical system shall not include a radiant slab but shall instead be conventional forced air. Work shall be as required to produce a set of plans and specifications and secure all required permits as detailed herein. Construction cost estimates shall be provided with all submittals to the City. Construction work shall be phased so that the existing library may remain in service until the new library is operational. The plans and specifications shall set forth the details of the construction including sitework, landscaping, structural systems, architectural systems, electrical systems (lights, power, phone, data), mechanical systems, security systems, and plumbing systems. The work shall include built in cabinetry at the program room, kitchen area, restrooms, lounge, delivery, book return and transaction desk, lobby (computer tables), and information desk. A prof ector and retractable screen shall be specified at the program room along with an AV system capable of running computer displays, vhs and dvd entertainment and including a microphone system for voice. A platform or false floor to allow for maximum flexibility of utilities in the library area shall be explored. It is anticipated that one or more doors will use electronic locks. 2.0 BASIC SERVICES 2.1 STATE SCHEMATIC DESIGN SUBMITTAL The Consultant shall prepare and submit Schematic Design submittal to the State. 2.1.1 The Consultant shall prepare written responses and drawing revisions as required to the Office of Library Construction Conceptual Design review comments. 2.1.2 The Consultant shall prepare a Schematic Design submittal for the Office of Library Construction consistent with their submittal requirements. 2.1.2.1 The Consultant shall prepare specific exhibits for the Office of Library Construction submittal such as tabulation tables for assignable squire footage, collections, technology, and seating. Meetings: One meeting with the PMT. Deliverables: Schematic Design Drawing Package; updated Statement of Probable Construction Cost, and Outline Specifications. 2.2 DESIGN DEVELOPMENT PHASE 2.2.1 The Consultant shall prepare project objectives and schedule; and meet with Project Management Team.
