EXHIBIT A SCOPE OF SERVICES 1.0 DESCRIPTION: This contract is for design of replacement and new piping at the Water Pollution Control Plant in the City of San Leandro. The first run of piping is 6" primary pipe that runs from the primary settling tanks approximately 280 lineal feet westward to a point west of the secondary digester number two. This section includes approximately 40 lineal feet of new pipe. A bypass and valve shall be added at the flow meter in the pump room of the primary digester number four. The second run of piping is 6" feed pipe that runs from the Northeast corner of the control building approximately 250 lineal feet around the sludge thickener to the primary digester number four. The third section of piping runs from the pit between the primary clarifiers approximately 180 lineal feet around the plant maintenance building and connects to the first run of piping described above. This section includes approximately 10 lineal feet of new piping adjacent to the pit. The fourth run of piping is 6" feed pipe that runs from near the sludge control building northward to the Northeast corner of the plant control building approximately 240 lineal feet. Design shall include fittings, clean outs, valves, connection points, and in-ground concrete valve boxes as appropriate for efficient operation of the system. Work shall be as required to produce a set of plans and specifications that describe the work to be done in sufficient detail for construction. A construction cost estimate shall. be provided with the 70% and 100% submittal to the City. The first run of piping shall constitute the base bid; the second through fourth runs shall be individual bid alternates. Work includes reviewing existing documentation, evaluating soils corrosivity, and providing as-built drawings. 2.0 BASIC SERVICES 2.1 70% Construction Documents City tasks: Provide process information and hard copy of drawings of existing piping in the vicinity of the work. Provide City of San Leandro standard details. Contractor tasks: Review information, secure soils analysis, layout work, design piping. Deliverable: 70% Construction Documents: Plans, details, outline specifications, cost estimate, copy of soils analysis (one set of each). Plans maybe submitted as half size provided that all information is legible. 2.2 100% Construction Documents City tasks: Review and comment on 70% design. Contractor tasks: Incorporate comments, complete design, coordinate technical specifications with City of San Leandro front-end specifications.
