SAN LEANDRO ADMINISTRATIVE CODE Article I. Article I. TITLE 12 PUBLIC WORKS Chapter 8 STREET TREE POLICY AND PROCEDURE $12.8.100 GENERAL. A street tree is a plant of arborescent form planted within the public right-of--way. Except as specifically provided in this Chapter, trees planted outside the public right-of--way are the sole and exclusive responsibility of the property owner. $12 8105 STREET TREE PLANTING. Proverty owners desiring a new street tree must contact the City to request a tree . The City will plant the tree for a fee of $0 to the property_owner The property owner will limited d~scret~on_as to the type of tree based on the area available for planting. Tf an eaistirt~ street tree is being removed by the City under the circumstances in §12.5.1 10 and the City will require a replacement tree to be planted There will be no cost to the property owner for this sen~ice. A. City Removal The City will remove a street tree under the following circumstances: 1. Where the tree is dead or damaged beyond expected recuperation (by storm, vehicle accident, etc.). 2. Where hazardous conditions exist (e.g., a tree in danger of falling over). 3. Where a tree is causing confirmed sewer problems. 09-17-01
