EXHIBIT A <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />General: <br />The project consists of enhanced curbside parking, new and/or supplemental street <br />lighting, infill street trees, corner sidewalk bulb-outs, and pedestrian street crossings on <br />MacArthur Boulevard between Durant Avenue and Estudillo Avenue. New medians will <br />be constructed between Dowling Boulevard and Estudillo Avenue, and the sidewalk and <br />fencing will be installed on the westerly side of MacArthur at San Leandro Creek Bridge. <br />Streetscape improvements will include street furniture including new benches and trash <br />receptacles. The improvements are to be consistent with the draft master plan prepared <br />by Bottomley Associates titled "City of San Leandro MacArthur Boulevard Streetscape <br />Master Plan" dated January 25, 2001. <br />General Assumptions: <br />• English units will be shown on the plans <br />• Additional tasks, beyond those which have been identified in this proposal, required <br />by the City or other agencies, in the preparation of the engineering design, reports, <br />and PS&E, will be negotiated separately, as necessary in accordance with the fee <br />schedule shown in Exhibit B. <br />• Potholing in the field locate existing utilities is not anticipated at this time <br />• No undergxounding of existing overhead power or telephone lines or relocation of any <br />underground utilities are included in this project <br />Task 1 Preliminary Engineering <br />The Contractor shall collect and /or prepare all data required to complete the <br />preliminary design phase of the project i.e. Caltrans right-of--way maps, utility maps, <br />topographic survey prepared by Bellecci and Associates and the Streetscape Master <br />Plan prepared by Bottomley and Associates. <br />The Contractor shall perform field surveys to provide design level detailed <br />information to supplement the topographic base mapping, which will be provided by <br />the City. The City shall furnish the Contractor Caltrans right of way maps. <br />The Contractor shall prepare base maps to City standards at appropriate scales for the <br />site. <br />The Contractor shall perform lighting level studies to document existing light levels <br />and as a basis for new lighting design. <br />Preliminary layout of the new curb and gutter will be established. <br />Specific tasks to be performed during this phase will include: <br />• meeting with City and design team and site investigation <br />Exhibit A Page 1 of 3 <br />6/12/95 MacArthur Streetscape <br />
