EXHIBIT A
SCOPE OF SERVICES
This project is designed to link the Downtown Project Area through a universal landscaping,
lighting and pedestrian improvement plan. The Downtown Project Area is defined as the area
between East 14th Street, Davis Street, Hays Street and Parrott Street and is shown on the
attached map. Also tasks should include this entire area unless specifically stated otherwise.
The scope of services to be provided by Dillingham and Associates includes the following:
TASK 1: The Contractor shall meet with City staff, the Downtown Association and area
property owners and become familiar with the project site.
TASK 2: East 14`h Street Improvements Review: To ensure that the Downtown Project
Area improvements complement other improvement projects, the Contractor shall review
the lighting (pedestrian and street) and crossing treatments proposed for East 14`h Street.
TASK 3: Lightingr Using the City's Lighting Study and the existing conditions constraint
map, and working closely with staff for review, the Contractor shall assist staff in selecting
options for lighting fixtures. These fixtures will be tested on poles to be placed in the paseo
between West Joaquin Avenue and the Taco Bell parking area so that staff and the City
Council can determine which fixture is preferable. Options, which can be adapted with
electrical conduits to allow for seasonal tree canopy lighting, should be considered. Once a
fixture is chosen, the Consultant shall determine how the fixtures should be placed along
the sidewalks and walkways and throughout the parking lot within the Downtown Project
Area to provide an adequate level of lighting.
EXHIBIT A Page 1 of 3
G:ADS~BETH~DTProject 2002Uandscape Lighting Pedestrian Imprvt CSA OS-20-02.doc
