TASK 4: West Estudillo/Hays Street Entry: The Contractor shall develop conceptual plans
to improve the pedestrian entrance to the shopping center and mitigate the appearance of the
trash enclosure at the site. These improvements shall incorporate the lighting chosen in
Task 2 and shall include paving, landscaping and entry gateway details. The improvements
could also include street furniture and enhancements to the walls of the buildings along the
entry to improve the pedestrian environment.
TASK 5: Landscaping: The Contractor shall develop a conceptual landscaping plan for the
landscaped areas within the Downtown Project Area. The plan should include street trees
and ground cover and should mitigate the appearance of any trash enclosures in the parking
lots. This plan will include a redesign of the landscaping at the historic plaza area at the
corner of Davis and East 14`h Streets. Special emphasis should be placed on developing a
plan that is low maintenance yet provides color for most of the year.
TASK 6: Pedestrian Improvements/Furniture• The Contractor shall develop a
minimum of two furniture options for placement within the Downtown Project Area for
consideration by staff and the City Council. These options should complement the
shopping center and should have options for benches, trash cans and planters. A site plan
showing the exact location of the furniture will not be required, however some thought
should be given to where the furniture could go given the existing conditions constraints
map. Plans for hardscape treatments (i.e. pavers, tiles, stamped concrete) for selected areas
within the Downtown Project Area shall also be developed.
EXHIBIT A Page 2 of 3
G;ADS~BETH~DTProject_2002\Landscape Lighting Pedestrian Imprvt CSA OS-20-02,doc
